Default Oil

I wouldn't deviate that far from what's recommended. I use what's recommended, but that's just me.

You can use 5w-20 if it is available.

Since you are in Mexico and don't have to deal with winter temperature, it should be ok.

Thanks!
I went to www.motorcraft.com.mx and found out that the only full synthetic they have its 5w 40, the other one 5w 30 its blend.

The guy from the delearship told me that 5w 20 disappeared and the only full synthetic they got its 5w-40, when i look for it at the motorcraft site from the states i saw it was for diesel thats why i freak a little.

So tomorro its 30 000kms service and will use motorcraft 5w 40, if anyone else have any comments or advise that could harm my Pony please let me know.

Thanks

You have no sig so I don't know what engine you have. The V8 calls for 5W20 and I believe the V6 calls for 5W30. I wouldn't stray beyond 5W30 on a V8 and 5W40 on a V6.

Sorry, you are right.

I did a quick research and found that in mexico the only full synthetic its 5w 40, at their site they have 5w 30 but it says blend.

At least in the US, the V8's come from the factory with the Motorcraft blend. It's a decent oil. There's no special reason to go with full synthetic. They both protect equally well. The full synthetic doesn't need to be changed quite as often as the blend. Other than that, you're fine with either.

I would use the 5-30w blend before the 5-40 full synthetic.
