I'm glad I don't live in Cook County. Of course, I live right on the border and my parents live in Iowa, so I'd just register in Iowa if they did testing here.

I love visiting Chicago - a lot of cool things and places, but I'm glad I don't live there. I couldn't handle the red tape, regulations, taxes, etc. In their defense I'm sure Cook County is worried about the environment and not just looking for a way to generate funds...

I'm confused all you guys live in Illinois and dont have to do emission testing? My form I received is from the Illinois environmental protection agency/Vehicle emission testing. I always thought it was a state wide operation. I live in Lake County not Cook County.Im up north near the Wisconsin border.

With the Cat's removed you will never pass the Catalyst monitor, but if they allow one not-ready you may be fine. Your sh*t outa luck if they do a visual though....

this is the only reason i havent switched to an o/r x pipe. in tn they still use the mirrors and plug up to the obdII. damn nashville area. get tested once a yr no matter how old your car is. one county south of where i live and bout 15 miles doesnt require any testing. figures!!!!!!!!!!!! i have thought about gutting the cats and leaving them in place but not sure if someone can write a tune that would still pass.
good luck with the inspection. but as someone has said if they do a visual inspection your s.o.l. or at least will have to put on your cats again.

Yeah, If the o2 is turned off, it will lead to other monitors not running, so will be multiple not readys.

Mine currently with the rear o2's off I have 4 not ready monitors.
