Low RPMs its ok ?
Hello!
I just took my car into service after having a problem with the car going to high temperature delear made something and its ok now, they said they didnt do anything to the car but the thing is that is not getting high temperature level anymore.
I just reinstalled my C&L Street CAI with Brenspeed tune, when i started the car the RPMs went down almost at Zero then it went up to 500RPMs. I drive for some minutes and ran to see how it feels again after the tune.
The issue is at idle the RPMs go down almost getting 0 RPMs to 500RPMs.
After running the car and change to neutral RPMs went down almost to 0 RPMs and it feels like it going to go off but then RPMs went up to 500.
If car is running slow and then i change to 1st gear it feels weird since RPMs are between 0 and 500 RPMs
So RPMs are basically from 0 to 500RPMs. I dont recall this before I already checked the Strategy Code and its the same. Reviewed my reinstall of CAI and everything is fine, when car was on service i did clean my Filter with K&N Cleaner this was done on the weekend followinf instructions.
Is it normal to have low RPMs or i should contact Brenspeed ?
Many Thanks

Hi,
I use a SCT tuner. Right now im with the stock MAF, i took away the C&L and tune because the car just died when getting low RPMs.
Brenspeed said i might have oil on the MAF sensor or in the Throttle Body, so i need to get some cleaner for sensors and TB.
What im confused is IF i would of have oil on sensors or in the TB, WHY with the stock box i dont have issues.
Thanks

You can set the idle speed settings with your SCT, and see what they are set at, too.
Sounds to me like you have something going wrong somewhere though, perhaps even a vacuum hose disconnected.
Hook up your SCT and do some datalogging on values including throttle position, air flow, long term fuel trims, rpms, and maybe a few others.
If your long-term fuel trims are like +8 or more, then you have a nasty vacuum leak and that will affect idling (been there!).
Maybe there's other ideas, too.
