A Salesman ordered my 06 GT last wednesday and I still havent heard back from him with a confirmation code.

So my question is how long does it take to get a confirmation back? Am I getting the run around or what?

And whats that 800 # again to check on your order?

As far as I know, they won't start building '06's for a couple more months... hang tight.

The dealer likely won't have a confirmation or VIN for any 06 until they start production. Some dealers are putting the 06 orders in as 05's knowing that they wont be produced but will be first in line when the 06's start production....

August 8th the first 06 will be produced. My delaer told me 6-8 weeks after that so now the cars delivery will be sometime in October for me! Pisses me off because he told he 2 months ago when I ordered my GT that I would be getting an 05 in Sonic Blue. They took my $500 deposit no problem but now the story changes. I think they knew it all along that I wouldnt get an 05 but they want to hook you into there dealership for the sale. Plus they have no vested interest in helping you locate your car somewhere else because they dont get any money for that! Ford really doesnt have there $hit together on orders for this car. I know they got alot more response than they planned but you can only build so many cars a day and they should have a friggin clue to where your at on the order list! So I located an individual seller and will be buying his car pretty soon! Later with the dealer. Also find out from the dealer your working with where your at on the list. Be specific and get a number. They never wanted to address that where I bought mine from. What they dont tell you is they only have so many allotments for GT's. If your way down the list they only get alloted a few GTs per month if there lucky which will put you months out for getting your car. If you go to another dealer say out in the country or a high volume dealer that moves alot of cars you may get right in his first allotment for an 06. Also most of the salesman dont have a clue about the allotments. You have to talk to the sales manager. He will be the guy ordering the car and know whos on first etc. Hope this helps, it would have for me when I was first looking. Cheers..........

This seems to vary a alot. I ordered mine April 5, got the dealer order receipt ackowlegement April 7. Got the VIN may 24. It was scheduled to be built last week and due to arrive the last week of this month.

Thanks for all the feed back. Most of this thread goes to those who are ordering an 06. I'm aware of the challanges of waiting for a vin # and a build date by reading other experiences on this site. However I find it difficult to believe you cant get a simple order confirmation #. The only thing they have done for me is cash my check.
