If you watch you can by them used cheap, I paid 50 for mine. Those billet versions are useless unless you plan to run nitrous, the econo plates are already larger than the intake.
If you wanted to be a budget modder you could modify your stockers. For what I paid wasn't really worth it. You would have to thread the hole where the bar controlling the valves goes and plug them, then smooth them out. I don't think the econo plates are oem recasts because of the size difference. The big difference between them and the billets is price and size. The billets also have an adapter for nitrous.

yep, thanks for the insight eagle, i'm trying to (inexpensively) squeeze out as much hp as i can while still being n/a, so i might consider delete plates now
