Just a suggestion, but Ide check in to getting it painted on. That way you have no worrys about vinyl peeling. And they would remove the emblem before painting so that issue would be taken care of. I want to do that to mine, too.

I don't know about paint color showing around the emblem, but the ones on ebay that are vinyl window tint material are supposed to fit perfectly. If you don't trust them, you could have any tint shop do it and make sure they get it right. If you don't want the permanance of paint, I would go with the vinyl because the plastic ones are supposed to trap water and dirt behind them.

I got mine off ebay...

Can't remember the website but it is made out of lexan plastic...

It is held on by adhesive stripes so the is "no vinyl" to scratch...

Cost about $49.95 and worth it!!!

Just look at it. It looks like liquid...

Damn! That does look great! But I never had much luck with glued on parts. Still, its tempting for only 50 bucks! What did you type in to find it on EBay? And I wonder if the guy has more of 'em. Hmm...

If you dont get it painted on, wouldnt you develope a problem with moisture behind the panel?

I went to EBay and looked for these, but all I can find are decals and some kind of cheap vinyl one for about $25. Oh, and one outfit has a honeycomb ABS plastic one for about $90 comming out in September, but they want you to pay for it now. They say theirs has a drain so water wont build up behind it. Think I'll have mine painted on when I can afford it.

Just in case anyone is looking for them. You can get the headlight, taillight and center sections from http://www.lmperformance.com/ .
I bought the rear center and headlight covers from there. They are made by GTS and go for $40 each on their site, best price I've found on them so far.

Just another thought you may want to consider, now that I re-read your post. Your concern seems to be about the gap between the rear emblem and the cover. This is what I suggest, and what I will be doing. Go buy a cheap 3M stripe kit or small amount of 3M vinyl. Cover the area around the emblem and put the GTS cover on over it. Smooth looking finish and no body color shows up around the emblem. Or for even more protection, buy one of those ebay rear vinyl kits and then install the GTS blackout. This will keep mositure and dirt off on the body itself. Also with the GTS rear blackout, if you notch out the lower adhesive strip (take out 1/2" every 1" or so), this will also keep water from collecting back there. Just suggestions you may find useful.
