Anyone with Steeda intake hop on in
Ive had my eye on this intake forever and I'm going to pull the trigger on it soon (and obviously the sct tuner with it). The site states its proven 38rwhp and 30 ft lbs tq to the wheels aswell. Probably one of the biggest gains out of the intake/tune combinations so i've been told. Does anyone have any dyno runs to show there numbers on this setup?
The carbon fiber elbow looks like complete sex and even though its 100 dollars more I don't like to just settle with things for my car.. I like to get things how I would want them even if the cost and time is more and longer.

i have it with the cf elbow and an sct tune from jdm engineering. never dynoed it but i read somewhere that SCT did a test and the steeda cai produced the highest numbers over other intakes on an s197 gt

there are two differant tests. one was done by sct and one was done by a magazine. SCT test shows steeda and the mag test shows JLT as the best. No matter which one you get the gain is not going to be noticeable over another brand. except maybe the k&n which will have lower numbers

right there all pretty much the same i think steeda and c7l racer look the best tho and probly a few more ponys to with them cause the c7lis 95mm and the steeda is 90mm i think the others are 88mm

First off, Steeda, C&L, JLT... any of the CAI's that require a tune are equivalent in performance. Remember, a dyno on the same vehicle under similar conditions can give you results that vary by as much as 10-12% so comparison tests to try to find a 1 or 2 or 3 HP difference is useless.
Typical #'s for CAI & tune on the forum are 15-25 RWHP gain. And depending on your other mods, more payback from the tune. Don't believe what the manufacturer's claims are.

38rwhp? Definitely not. Maybe on S/Ced. I do not have an initial dyno run for comparison, but I hit 272.0RWHP and 285.81RWTQ after the Steeda intake and a Brenspeed 91octane tune. I think most people stock dyno in around 250rwhp and about that in torque so when I'm talking the talk I say I've gain 22RWHP over stock.
But.......I have to say that it's truly not the number that really makes the difference. Adding the intake and the tune really hauls up your low end and the throttle response is unreal.
Hands down best bang for buck and best 'butt dyno' result.
