Hi,

I got a Brenspeed 91 tune and my engine started pinging with it. I tried different gas stations but it didn't help. I am getting a new tune now. They said this is the same 91 tune thousands of GTs work fine with and that my engline is probably just more sensitive. How can that be? I have the same engine like everyone else ...

I've always had problems with pinging too. Mostly when the temp outside is warm/hot. I'd ping on the stock tune running 87 and I ping with a Brenspeed or Bamachips tune as well.

Today the temp was kind of warm and I run with a 91 Bamachips tune with 93 octane. I was getting some pinging. Once around 4K. Then later I'd only get it at WOT between 5K and 5.5K.

Who knows.

Same here, I never had a problem with pinging till the first summer with the tune came. The sent me a new tune-said some cars are just more sensitive to spark then others......how do some cars make more hp than others? Know one will ever know lol

My Brenspeed 93 tune used to ping until I had Brent adjust it. No more pinging now.

At what RPMs do you hear pinging at? Any good sound clips of what pinging sound like on a mustang - especially a 3v?

Mine occurred at mid-to-high rpms when I was shifting hard. It sounds like marbles in your engine.

mine starts after 4000 rpm especially in higher gears.

There are probably more people out there with pinging, they just don't know yet
I didn't know what it was at the beginning, I thought it was some rattling from the exhaust or something until I flashed a lower tune and it stopped.

Mine is pinging at 93 using brenspeed tune at about 5000 rpm. And right it usually occurs on summer (especially texas).
