Arrow Installed a throttle body spacer and my engine didn't explode...

well I got one a while back, I got the UPR billet spacer. I got it for free so it cost me nothing. Anyway, I read up on the posts around here that would lead you to believe that the worst thing you could do for your car would be installing a throttle spacer. So I decided, what the hell, I'll just try it. Everybody, (w/ no dyno proof to back it up) says that the spacer does nothing. It makes exactly 0 hp and 0 ft/lbs of torque and actually results in a power LOSS as it adds weight. I know that gains can be exaggerated by the manufacturer when it comes to what a specific bolt on makes. I doubt I gained 10hp. Although, its possible as the average butt dyno is incapable of noticing a gain that small. I don't know but for free....or $30 or so on ebay, if it makes even 3hp, isn't that about the cheapest hp you can buy???? can you imagine a world where you could buy 100hp for $1000? (nitrous aside, of course) I'm just saying, is there any real proof out there that these things really are nothing more than paperweights?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, TB spacers are relics of TBI and carburated days. We have port injection so increasing the space between the TB and intake manifold does not help mix the air/fuel mixture or speed up the air or anything else that the manufacturers claim. On carburetors and TBI cars however, they did work.
