mine started to squeak, so i angled it up on the front for like a millisecond and no more squeak. if i put it back at default position, it'll squeak.

it's a weird fix, but i don't notice the change.

They sit just above mid-back and have a lot of movement, much more than the passenger seat. I'm guessing I'll have to go to the dealership and cross my fingers that its warranty-able. Any ideas?

Note: I doubt it's my size, I'm under 200lbs and under 6'

No, I still have the squeak ... I've just given up. I only hear it when I get into the car.

you know, i've noticed when you angle the seat, the squeak goes away too. the only thing with mine, is it comes back after a while till i move the seat again

I honestly don't notice it until I hit a parking garage. I think the steep grade of the ramps places more of my weight on the seatback, pushing on the springs more. Day to day it goes unnoticed.

Should we just chalk it up to domestic automotive production?

Yes. Along with the stupid rattle in the driver's side door behind the door handle.

Ahhh, RipTide I see you're as optimistic as I about the quality of workmanship that goes into our beloved toys...

Well to be fair. These are pretty cheap cars. You get what you pay for. Mechanically I tend to think they are probably pretty good. But Ford saved money on the interior.

it's rather sad, that angling up the seat a millimeter sort of fixes the problem. i'm 6'3'' and 205, and when the seat started to squeak, i won't lie, i got nervous haha. but after angling the seat, for about roughly 10k miles its been squeak free.

i noticed my seat will do this squeak depending on the postion, the source was the seat bottom rubbing on the center console. move the seat a little, never heard the sound again
