Default should i put new headers on my V6?

hey guys, i have been thinking about getting a dual exhaust for a long time, i am going to get flowmaster american thunders, and an X pipe, i wanted to get the full exhaust with headers and everything, but i sorta feel like i should not get the headers anymore. since its a V6 i know that i possibly might not see any HP gains, the only thing i was expecting from them is to help improve my sound, but the shop i was gunna have do it said the headers alone for the JBA headers and installation will be 900, i think thats very pricey for just a little sound difference, of course i am goign to get a CAI soon and other peices, i really feel like the chances of me having buyers remorce after the headers will be very high, whats ur guys opinions? do you think il b satisfied with them? or do you think i should save myself 900 dollars?

I would save it put it towards suspension, wheel or forced induction

I put headers on my old 4.0 v6 ranger and would not do it again. Expensive, major pain with leaks and lost torque.

There are better mods for that engine, imo.

Spend the $$ on gears and a t-lok. Unless you are FI.. headers aren't really worth it on the 6'er. Best performance bangs for our cars are:

1. CAI and tune

2. Gears with t-lok

Those mods will transform the car in a very big way.

Duals are really just for sound.. but well worth it.

+1. Especially shorty headers: dont bother.
Long tubes should only be used for supercharged setups. You may gain a couple hp, but not worth the money it would take.

(btw...the mods never end ...)
