Where do I go to have it tuned? (I live in GA)

(This might be a stupid question, I just assumed that if you want to tune your car, you need to purchase the tuning device)
or sell that C&L and buy a intake that doesn't require a tune,

never mind just buy a tuner

that's weird.. other cars you can tune by using a PC (or laptop) and a cable connected to the ODB2 port.. why should you require a tuner? a PC should be able to do anything a hand held tuner can..

Even if you COULD or did, there'd come a time when you will want or NEED to reload the tune or return to the stock tune. Then you'd be screwed.

I don't get it... You spend upwards of $20-$30,000 dollars for a performance car and now you balk at a few hundred to get better performance and to be able to manipulate things in addition to the tune. Cut out the McDonalds Happy Meals for a few months and buy the tuner and tunes.

You need a tuner to link the dyno equipment to the car. Its one of those things you cant get around, so if you plan on a CAI, at least to work properly, plan on purchasing one of the tuners.

The only way out of not having a tuner is to have your car custom-dyno tuned at a local speed shop.

That being said, it will be JUST AS EXPENSIVE as getting your own tuner and you will have to pay for a new tune the next time you mod your car...and again...and again...and again. Going rate is like $300 a pop here in Houston.

Compare that to a tuner from Brenspeed or Bamachips at about $300 and well...there are no cost savings and plenty of downside to not getting a tuner.

Your best bet is to just save up. I also have the C&L CAI; it's a good CAI. And you'll love the tune!
