Sorry King -deekum got O.T. (sort of) and it was about the install of the MAC's LT's vs. shorties.....anyway it was a rather easy and forward install and MAC is currently making a set of headers you can put in from the top instead of the bottom and lifting the motor up and undoing the steering etc....

It's ok, I actually found and read the article while I was waiting on a response

Anyways, most what I found is a fairly newish car should be ok with stock motor mounts? I don't want to spend the money if I don't have to, b/c I really don't have it, but don't want the LT's rubbing all the time. Then again, I guess they try to factor this the best they can when the design them?

Hopefully that is the case for the boost brothers ones but most people avoid a second install of motor mounts and install them at the same time with the LT's since you have to loosen/remove the mounts anyway....

Yeahhhhh With the Mac's you have to unbolt the motor.
You have to take out the steering shaft.
Although you have to unbolt it and lift the motor the actual mounts do not need to be removed.
The Mac's do not fit otherwise. Good luck with the install. The passenger side was a little more difficult and getting the top bolt back into the starter about killed me.

so for the boost brothers LTs you are spending:

$300 LTs and O/R H
$150 motor mounts
$50 header bolts
$500 installation

im also trying to weigh some options here. Are the kooks or ARH LTs an easier install. Something i can do without lifting the motor and changing the mounts?

For the most part, yes, except I might not get the motor mounts. IMHO if they don't charge anymore than $500 to install and everything goes smoothly, then these headers will be worth it. $300 for LT's + o/r H is a steal. From the pics they look to be done very well. Plus they're stainless steel, so hopefully they will last a while. Welds look solid, too. Mine ship today, so I can't wait.

Also, when I call Brenspeed for the new tune, do I just give it to the install shop and say to upload it once the headers are in? Or put in before I go?

I vote you just solid mount the engine and not screw with the motor mounts
