Sounds like a good plan since it is the same size Roush runs on all 4 corners. Now you just have to figure out which tires to buy.

I'm mixing tires cause I have 18 X 10 on the back and 18 X 9 on the front both Goodyear but two different models because they don't make my front tire design in a 295.

There is nothing wrong with it imo unless you have diff brands then it may look funny but generally speaking I see tons of cars with diff rubber on the rear cause of the size.

example nitto invos in the rear and the 555 up front I see that combo all the time and went with the same for my rims. Looks great IMO both side walls match up just fine.

I have been in a few vettes with the tire combo above @ sebring and the cars handled great and the tires hooked evenly enough from what I was aware of and all of the guys driving got this set up for the same reasons to get that steam roller in the back, If it worked out fine in those track conditions I figured it is more then safe enough for me to run on the street.

So basically some of you are saying all the guys running D/R are in the wrong lol ? Thats alot of cars runnign around with the wrong tires?

I say go big in the rear man I bet you $100 bucks you regret it after you park your stang beside somebody else who has those 295's out back and your going to say "DAM"
lol

Tomb - outward appearance is probably the poorest reason for choosing tires. Unfortunately it seems to be the popular reason, probably because most of the things that make a tire work are not visible.

If I was into drag racing, I would not daily-drive around on my DR's. Aside from the reasons mentioned throughout this thread, I wouldn't want to have the best of my DR grip slip away in normal street driving and not be there for me when it really mattered. It's no different of a recommendation than to not daily-drive on "R-compound" autocross tires.

Nice choice for a DD IF you garage the Stang in bad, winter weather.
