Default Mixing tires, bad idea?

I'm having trouble finding matching tires for front and rear in the sizes i need. Is there any downsides to running differant front and rear tires? The only matching sets are very expensive

I was going to do that when I order my wheels fro cruizin concepts. They called and thought it was a little weird to have two front tires and two rear tires different, but they said it wasn't unsafe or detrimental in anyway. As far as i know it shouldn't be a problem. I ended up getting the same 4 all over however b/c the cheap front tires were out of stock anyways.

its preference ...and I like the same all around......its no different by going with the fronts with stock tire and rims and the backs with bogarts and slicks... (well you know what I mean-extreme example-and you dont want to have slicks for DD)

To me, mixing tires is like mixing socks. You can do it but it wouldn't look right. lol

yeah it depends how different the tires are... if the 2 on the back are high performance summer tires and the ones on the front are snow tires or something, things might get a little weird.
