Default Water & "GT" dingus on the trunk...

FWIW

I came back from the store today, opened the trunk, shut the trunk, and a goodly amount of water came out from the "GT" dingus. Bothers me, don't want water staying in there too long, be worried about rust.

Sunday I drove it 140 or so miles on an 80 degree day, and I'm not sure at the moment when I last drove it in the rain, and I know I have not needed to wash it in several weeks. It is not a daily driver.

I'm not used to messing with body stuff, is it a problem to removed and replace, and maybe seal the dingus thing?

Thanks

I have the same problem with mine. It does really bother me, but I've heard it's a real pain to remove it and get it back on, so I haven't tried it.

Ok, this will only make sense if you're familiar with Watchmen, but why do I hear this in Rorschach's voice? God, I am such a geek.

Well, maybe the "fix" is to make sure we open and close the trunk after washing and/or rain?

This is the first time this has happened to me in 36k miles and many washings. I've always opened the trunk after a wash to dry those inner areas of the trunk and around the edges and I'd get water coming out of the "dingus". So, maybe this was caused by the last rain I drove in and maybe I should start doing an open and close to the trunk when returning from a drive in the rain.

Yep.

There may be another brand, but this is the only one I know of.

Rksport offers two different rear fillers. We have one that is is solid, and one that has the cut outs for the key and emblem. The item is a finished product made from carbon fiber and comes ready to install.

you can pry it off. and you can use RTV to put it back on for a good tight seal
