need advice on launching
well, as some of you may have seen in another thread i had made, i recently went to the local track for a test and tune night, and my times were all but impressive. it was the first time i have had the stang at the drag strip, and also the first time i had ever tried to run drag radials. my best was a 13.8 @101, backed up by a 13.9 @101.
so my question to all you seasoned stang racers is; how are you launching off the line? should i hold it at 4000 rpm and drop the clutch and try to power through any bogging? should i feather the clutch from 2200 rpm and smooth it out a bit? and to any who have been successful on drag radials, what pressures should i be running in the tires? 20psi?? less or more?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks - Tony
**edit - here's the video if it helps.

60' times are all arroud 2.1, which is really bad for having drag radials. and yes, i was bogging bad! should i bump up the rpm's to 4500-5000?
and i fixed the video.
and i fixed the video.

Lower the BFG to 18 psi and work down from there.
If you have adjustable shocks, put the fronts full loose and the rear a turn from full hard.
Spin the tires a revolution or two in the water and pull out of the box.Do a second gear burn out. Put it in second, rev to 5k and drop the clutch. Step on the brake pretty hard and modulate the power until you see good smoke and then 2-3 seconds more.
Pull to the line and go to 4500 and when the last yellow, let out the clutch. Don't side step it, but let it out pretty fast. You need to shock the BFG pretty good and you should get into the 1.8s.
track prep also come into play.
