I have never done this so i'm not positive. But i'm fairly sure that this cannot be done without an amp to power your sub. Depends on which sound system you currently have but not sure the stock HU has the power output to handle your 12" sub.

Yeah you will need a pair of RCA cables to run from your amp to your HU. Get the twisted ones if you can to help reduce interference. You can get a 4 gauge amp kit for like $40 on ebay. It will come with everything you need. Power cable with a fuse for amp to battery and connecting wires for sub to amp. Along with the RCA cables. What are your specs on amp and sub and I can help you more.

you can hook the remote wire to switched 12 volt in the fuse box and put a switch on it and you will need a hi/lo converter because stock headunits dont have rca jacks. you just hook the hi/lo converter to your rear speaker wires and hook the rca's to the module.

Yeah I have never worked with stock HU before. Should be straight forward though, like any aftermarket HU. Don't think you will have any problems.
Maybe some one who has done this can chime in.

I thought the rear speakers only produced Highs and not lows, or is there a crossover on the speaker?
