So If I got rid of the flowmasters and kept the x-pipe, what muffler would make it sound like a true muscle car? Singers? Thanks for all your help guys, I'm trying not to waste a lot of money on getting this right!

just go on youtube and listen to some of the video clips. I was at a show a couple weekends ago and heard a car with the flowmasters and an off-road H pipe and it sounded awesome. I liked it so much I ordered the H-pipe and am installing it tomorrow.

O/R H sounds great! I get compliments all the time! Old school bad *** muscle car sound. Yes there is some rasp to it but not nearly like the bassani O/R X I had. Just like you I disliked that sound---I love the sound of the H!

Could always keep your cats on with your bassani X, and it sounds just right.

+1 !!! I have Flowmasters and love the sound! I actually called Flowmaster before I bought them and asked them about adding an X pipe with they're mufflers and they said "an X with these will sound like a Jap car" You may want to try an H pipe instead and some headers for sure. Please update us and let us know what you find out!

CHRIS07GT - what brand H-pipe? Part # and price would be great as well. Thanks!

the best sytem ive heard so far is a pypes o/r h, pypes mid muffler system, with SLP LM tips instead of the tips that come with the mid muffler system. now this system isnt the cheapest, but sounds bada$$. IMO

I'm thinking of dumping my mac mufflers with powdercoated tips and going with some borla or corsa mufflers with my o/r long tube x setup...
