Talking 4.10:1 Gears Installed in My Automatic GT!

SICK! Absolutely sick. I love them, and am SO glad I didn't go with 3.73's. I actually still get traction off the line, which I wasn't expecting. It will spin a little then rocket through first and slam second leaving a nice long sueal and 3rd hits with a nice chirp. I just love them... wow. My buds and I are going to wax & cruise this weekend, so I will get some good videos of the 4.10's and post 'em up.

I got the gears here, which ended up being the cheapest price because of their free shipping. I got them to my doorstep the same week. The shop I had install them was SVPU (central AL), recommended by Doug at BamaChips. It's the shop that he uses for his personal car and sends all his gear customers there. I could tell why... they really know what they're doing. They required NO BREAK-IN PERIOD! I left the shop and did 4 WOT runs in a row. There is no whine what-so-ever... such a flawless install for a cheap price.

Doug's Roush was at the shop having something done for NITROUS or something.
I snapped a few pictures with my phone.

Oh yeah, and I also had them paint my Cervini's side scoops that had been in the attic for 2 years. That isn't very important though. I'll post pictures of those in a few minutes. They look good.

Awesome man. The more I read the more I lean towards the 4.10's. To bad i don't have the green for it right now. Congrats on the new gears and look forward to some of those vids.

how do you like them as a DD? Can you drive easy and slowerrrrr as well or do they shift hard every time no matter what?

Yeah they really don't drive much different when normally driving. 1st gear is a little more touchy, but I like it a lot. It doesn't shift excessively much when casually driving. Not a big difference from the stock 3.31's. I will post plenty of videos of normal driving and lots of WOT runs on Saturday. It looked like about 2700ish at 70 mph... nothing annoying. If you drove 80-90 mph everyday for a good distance it might get a little annoying, but I rarely drive on the interstate. I got up to around 85 on the highway and it didn't bother me any. I did have the windows down and the music up though.

Cars aren't supposed to be parked on trailors all the time.

Great to hear... I'll be getting mine installed after my new rims and S/C install.... they are sitting in the garage with the install kit growing dust...

Congrats on the 410's. The best upgrade for the buck for automatics.

Cool

I have 4.10 on My Convertible 07 GT CE. They are great. Particularly in town. Have done a couple of 100 mile highway rides and they are not bad either. You are at 2000 rpm at 60mph on 5th. Very important if you have Borla's on because you are just over the drone zone and still in the speed limit!

Exactly!
The Borla's sound incredible. The 4.10's gave them a better cruising tone because the RPM's are a bit higher. I love this car so much... the things I could do if I had the money...

Pics of the scoops they painted:
