^ What Poco said... I tried the Flows but the finish is aweful plus they never hung straight.
I buy as much as I can from JEGS because of thier great return policy. I have OR-H pipes and run the EDELBROCK axle backs. I can't believe more people don't know about these. Think about it... Edelbrock is known for getting the air in, so it only makes sence that they know how to get it out.
Now you can't always go by a sound clip (I know because I do live concert audio for a living). Edlebrocks are absolutely the best out there. I get only one reaction and only one question everytime I pull into a show.
*Reaction: All heads turn towards my car
*Question: What type of exhaust are you running?
Most guys are hesitant to make the change because they've spent too much for thier current set up.

Edelbrock... You wont be sorry.

It's called trumpeting, and it's pretty common when you get rid of the cats. Mine does it with an O/R H and Stingers.

could be the baffles inside the muffler itself, ive got the flows and just about 2 weeks ago i started it up and the left one rattles pretty bad from 1,100 to 1,500rpm, now i love my flows but im thinkin im gonna have to switch cause of the rattle.

I'll take a couple recordings tomorrow. It's raining out right now. Anyone else with thoughts, feel free to chime in.

I just put flows on my car saturday. They sound raw and muscular as hell with my set-up. It does "trumpet" a bit though. I believe resonators / high flow cats will help with that. I'm probably going to be putting my stingers back on though. Those fkers are MEAN!

If it's any help, I did installed Flows (Delta series, for push rod) on a 05 under the floor.
But I'm sure you don't wanna go that route..
Best sounding S197 3V I've heard though.

Like Poco said, the quality of those mufflers have gotten a justified bad rep...

I've had the Flows for over a year and never had this sound until I put on the h pipe though, so I have a hard time believing its because of the quality of the flowmasters. Just something with the coupling of the flows with an H-pipe. Anyone running just an off-road h with their factory mufflers?

Like I said Chris, we can tell you a lot more once we get to hear it.
