Apply the adhesive promoter per package instructions and the 3m tape will hold much better IMO.
3m 4298 Adhesion Promoter FTW.
eBay is the only known source to me.
4298 Adhesion PromoterPen $17.95 + S/H.
Individual packages
I bought the pen style and will never use
it all as a little goes a long way.
Avoid using 70% rubbing alcohol as this
has a negative effect on the 3M
Acrylic Adhesive. 91% Alcohol is
fine if you use the adhesion promoter
after it. I applied the adhesion promoter
directly to the 3M tape and let it evaporate.
This eliminates getting the promoter on
the vehicle exactly where the tape will
be adhering to it.
It makes the tape super sticky and starts
the curing process.

I just installed mine last week. The tape holds good... I just washed that portion of the car with Joy dish washing soap to remove the wax and stuck them on... not a big deal. However, on the back side of the scoops I can see the white tape. It really bothers me having a black car... Also make sure your shop paints both sides of the scoops. The shop I used didn't paint the whole inside. They sat the scoops on cans to paint the outside and it left two white circles on the inside of the scoops. It reflects on my black paint when it's in the garage... it looks like crap. I'll try to get some pics.

according to cervinis the inside of those scoops should be painted flat black. i bought mine used but they were already painted my body color but the inside was left white. while temp fitting them i could see how bad it would look with the inside left white so i did what the directions on cervinis site said and I grabbed some flat black paint from the auto parts store and painted them up real quick.
