Not really I think it would look really cool..... much like the Saleen Extreme Diffuser.... just my 2 cents...

how high is it screwed in on the inner fender well? it almost looks like you need to raise it higher (if that makes sense)
I was actually thinking the same thing when I saw the pictures...you shouldn't need any type of molding to hide the gap. You should be able to fit the GT500 chin spoiler right up against the bottom of the GT bumper.

below is the picture I marked up for another member...

05 mustang taught me to put mine on, but for the sides where he circled in red, I drilled through the bottom and through the bumper and installed a thick screw and tightened it up and then put JB Weld on it and mine sits high and tight

In the inner fender well the top screw matches the top screw already there. (if that made any sense)
I don't understand it either.... I'll take pics of the fender well if I remember when I get home.

Update.

I installed the molding today, and while it isn't perfect, I'm satisfied with it and it looks a lot better than it did.

I pretty much just stuck it in there and screwed through the chin spoiler, through the rubber, and into the bumper. To make for a clean fit at the ends of the bumper (by the wheel wells), I did have to cut the rubber at an angle.
