GT500 chin spoiler install question

Ok, so I installed the GT500 chin spoiler today following this guide:

https://mustangforums.com/forum/s197...-on-06-gt.html

I cut the parts on the left and the right, but the spoiler is still not fitting properly. It sags on those sides, and from what I understand they should fit flush, right? Anybody encounter this or have recommendations on what to try?

Looks like you need to drill it up into the bumper if you want it to sit flush... It looks like that to me from the pictures but I might be wrong let someone confirm it haha.

Yeah, I thought about that, but when you pull those sides up the center piece pushes on the front bumper, and the whole spoiler kind of contorts and gets wavy. I've read a lot of people talk about using door molding, so I might try and rig up something with that.

Looks to me you need to do more trimming and secure it more.

I havent done this mod yet but it is on my to do list.

I've personally installed 2 GT500 chin spoilers and they have always fit flush under the GT bumper. The only thing that I had to do was add (2) additional screws/lag bolts (1 on each side) under the chin spoiler and into the bottom of the bumper to draw the chin spoiler up, so it didn't look like it was sagging.

below is the picture I marked up for another member...

I picked up some garage door molding that I've already test fitted and it fits perfectly, makes for a nice clean look. I'll post some pics as soon as I actually mount it.

i don't know if it would help any, but i cut off part of the top of the raised middle section of the splitter and mine fits near perfect now; there is still a little bit of a sag in the same area you are talking about, but not enough to cause concern

how high is it screwed in on the inner fender well? it almost looks like you need to raise it higher (if that makes sense)

Stealth,
Not to hijack the thread, but i'm very interested in how this turns out. I've got the Californis Special, and I've been wanting to do this mod. Has anybody else put this spoiler on a CS?

No offense, but why would you do that???? The CS has a built in chin spoiler on the bumper. That would kind of be like bolting an aluminum wing on the top of a stock GT spoiler.

Yeah, you're right. I was just thinking. I really like that spoiler.
