Best CAI that doesn't need tune?
Like the title says, I know the best performance is extracted with Tune but I was wondering what intake provides the best performance without tune? Thanks for the input.
i would say bbk
i really like the airaid/roush cai (which i do have); plus, when you decide to get a tune, you can take a piece out of it and it's like you have a totally different cai :D
You can try K&N. I never tried it myself, but I am sure a few members have.
The Roush CAI has been tested and shown to give no measurable performance benefit in various magazines testing the most basic Roush models.
There's really no reason not to get a tune though. |
I have read positive reviews regarding the GMS intake.
same as bbk i think
I had a K&N and before tune it was just louder and no real seat of the pants improvement....
That's a real irony, using "best" and "CAI without a tune" in the same sentence.
A standalone CAI MIGHT gain you about 5 RWHP and many drivers won't even notice that. Also, some of the CAI's that claim to not require a tune will throw codes. My suggestion: save the money you're about to spend on a CAI and save it for the combo. |
Well the best would be the granatelli, a bunch of us got them, but if you plan on getting a tune at any point I would just do it now and get a CAI with the tune. I got the Granatelli thinking I would never get a tune, but now i am going to get one, so I could have gotten a CAI for a lower price since I dont need the calibrated MAF
