Default Rate your GT after lowering it ?

I want to lower mine. But I am nervous about it. I dont want a real stiff ride. Plus the roads in Illinois are probably the worst in the nation. How does your GT ride after lowering it rate it 1 thru 10 for overall comfort and handling. If its not in your signiture please post what springs and shocks your using?

well if u consider the stock ride a 10 i would say 8.5... it didnt really get rougher...just a little stiffer... i love it you can feel the road a lot more

Looks = Good
Ride = Rough!

I did do springs & shocks/struts though. Definitely stiffer.

I would say 8 if stock were a 10 for comfort, maybe a 7. It's been so long that I don't remember what stock felt like. Compared to my wife's Chrysler 300, my car would be a 4-5 and her's being 10. I still have the stock shocks/struts and stock 17 inch tires.

If you have stock 17's or 18's then you will be fine. If you have 20's with 35 series tires, then it will probably get rough.

I would say an 8/10, 10 being stock. Get tokicos so you can adjust them accordingly.
Yes, the roads suck here, lol.

I really didn't notice much change at all as far as ride comfort. It doesn't dive or squat as much and it stay much more level around long sweeping turns like for on-ramps. 10 to 9 maybe?

I used Eibach's pro kit which is about a 1.5" drop all around. I originally left in the stock shocks and the ride was slightly rougher but nothing I couldn't live with. Afterall it is a sports car. Eventually I upgraded the shocks to Tokico HPs which aren't adjustable and I could hardly tell a difference between them and the stockers. Waste of money. As far as the appearance goes...huge improvement! I'd never buy another S197 without lowering it. Go for it.

I fixed your sig pic as it was way too big...500x250 max and this is the best I can do with the pic I had. Might want to make a new one at those dimensions! car looks great

OP the springs from Roush will lower it some and offer a slightly better but stiffer handling of the car....its a good compromise and the shock should be replaced at the same time if you can afford it if not....do it at a later time.

Eibach Pro Kit with Tokico D Specs.

8 out of 10 for me on ride comfort.

The different shocks such as the D-specs will make the car handle better in the long run as the stock shocks/struts will eventually be shot because of the height difference.

Its a give and take. You have to give up a bit of comfort for looks and handling. I have sportlines but look into more moderate kits and beefier tires to fill up the void.
