4.10's INSTALLLED
Well I picked up the car from the shop today. The guy complimented me on having a nice car, then he told me its a whole new beast. I asked what the break in period was and he told me to GO. I said I would give it a full tank of gas before I really get on it. I want them to break in properly since I have a pair of drag slicks comming in my near future. The car is completely different. Exhaust tone is actually a little deeper and it hauls assss. I can still use 1st gear since Im runnin a 29.x" tire. I can honestly say it was a great investment....and for the guy with the Bullitt that said "be ready for the next track day" lol
Im ready. :) |
Sweet! Did I tell ya or did I tell ya :D I stopped by Dave's shop before heading to BMR to get my car and he said you'd just picked the car up a little bit before I got there. He said he forgot to tell you, and spread the word on this, they're having a grand opening BBQ there at the shop on April 18th. Of all days...I'll be in Chatanooga TN that weekend.

LOL yup Ill be doing a LT header install on KLO's car. Dang. The shop is really nice and Im def going to spread the word at the show this weekend. Dave is a stand out guy and there is NO CHANGE IN NOISE from the rear of my car. Perfect*

congrats on the gears! sounds like your pretty happy with everything..LOL!!

Congrats on the gear and the tall tire helped to effectively change the ratio to still have a usable first gear!....this is the very reason why I would only do 4.10's as opposed to 3.73 and besides I have read that going from 3.55 (which I have now) to a 3.73 would not be as noticeable and you get more bang for the buck by jumping up by 2;)
enjoy! |
Thanks mygt500. I almost went with a 4.30 gear to get the full feeling with my bigger tires, but decided against it since my DR's will be stock tire height and I wouldnt really have a first gear at the track.

So true and I forgot you mentioned that before!

I was thinking 27.8-28.2" with a 4.10. |

How tall of a tire do you have?
I was thinking 27.8-28.2" with a 4.10. the 295/35/20's are 28.1 inches tall (almost a 1.5 inch gain) and may be the better option in the long run for width. This way I can get the 275/35/20 (27.6 inch tall tire) in front and remain 20 mm different front to back and only about 1/2 inch difference in height from front to back and further bring the front off the ground from the prev 265/30/20 (26.3 in tall tire) I have now (a 1.3 inch gain in front).....much better for my set up IMO... lifts the car a bit, have more sidewall and fills the wheel well more further giving the lowered look and saving the side exhaust:cool:. |
yeah Im running a 295/40/20. I needed the clearence with the side exhaust. The tire I had on in my sig caused the car to scrape too much.
