I am no expert, but the V2 kit says specifically only to use the brake cleaner to clean, do NOT use degreasers. I am not sure why, to be honest. I sprayed them with the brake cleaner, scrubbed them with a stiff plastic brush, then wiped them down and repeated until I was out of cleaner.

I will know in a few years if it was a good enough cleaning... I might actually put 1000 miles on this summer, and I never drive in the rain.
