Default Strange sound coming from the Shaker 500?

Sometimes when I'm on the freeway and I'm accelerating (usually going from like 50 to 70) I hear a strange, high-pitched "gurgling" sound that seems to be coming from the Shaker 500. It's only audible during that time that I'm accelerating, and then it disappears. I know it's not just my Mustang, because sometime back I drove a friend's GT with the Shaker 500 and it also did this on the freeway. Anyone else heard this or know what causes it?

Replace the Brett Michaels CD with a different one. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hard to say by the description, but anytime I've witnessed a screeching while accelerating noise it was due to a bad ground.

It comes directly from the head unit. Or so it seems... I suppose it might be somewhere behind the dash or something but it's definitely an electronic sounding sound. If you've ever heard one of those cicara bugs it sounds a lot like that, only way quieter.

Noticed this from my shaker 1000! At first I thought it was spark knock, but its definetly not, its coming from the shaker. Only happens at acceleration for me. who knows?

I have the same sound - although I thought it was a vibration, not an electronic sound. I do have the shaker 500.

is it a loose CD platter? Or whatever those things that hold a loaded CD are called?

Does it do it with a CD playing or no CD in there at all?

I've got some weird noises over the years, including something from the vicinity of the heater core after about 5 minutes after starting. These Mustangs will never be like a Lexus, but it would be nice to know how to fix these noises!

I have a sound coming from the shaker as well but if I touch the hu, it goes away. After looking it a bit more it was the platters Orion has decribed. There is nothing I can do while the CDs are in there - but if not - no noise really.

Do you have 2-6 CDs stacked in it?
If so remove all the CDs and see if the vibration noise goes away.
Its probably the CDs that are stacked inside it.
One more reason the Shakers Suckers.
