If you looking for sound I can guarantee you it won't sound any different. At best it will slightly clean up any raspiness you might have. The money your going to spend on headers would be better but towards a drive shaft. Just trying to help you avoid making the same mistake I did. IMO is either go ***** out and get longtubes our stick with the stock manifolds. I know there's people in Cali running them. You just have to find a shady shop that will pass you.

BTW-Unless you get the jet hot coated headers you should expect them to rust and look like crap within short time.

Oh and one more thing....Those of you looking at getting a set just so you know the install is a PITA it will take you at least 8 hours even with the help of a friend or friends. The majority of the bolts are a PITA to reach. This is definitely not a mod your going to knock out in an hour or two. If you take it to a shop you can expect to pay anywhere between $400-$600 for install. Worst part is is that you won't even feel a difference in performance. I felt more of a difference when I did an O/R H pipe. This mod doesn't have the bang for the buck. Just trying to save everyone anywhere from $400-$1k on a mod that's not worth it.

Add me to the list. It's something I've considered as well, I would just go w/ the cheapest shorties though. I could care less about the look under the hood, I just want to move my power band around.

Leo, I did a search and this is what I found out about the headers and other mods. I searched N/A cars with CIA + tune, headers, shorties and Lt, CMDP and UDP I compared the hp#s and the 1/4 mile time and trap speed. It seems that any exhaust mod adds no hp gains. The mods that add hp and reduce the 1/4 mile time are the CIA + tune, CMDP and the UDP. I search only car with these mods. So I will agree with you when you say they are an appearance mod but I can't say they are useless because they will clean up the engine bay.
