Is there a way to tell if your mounts have more play in them than when new? Are they supposed to last the life of the car?

I was thinking about them to help improve shifting as it should stiffen up the drivetrain.

These are the lowered motor mounts. They're from JDM Engineering. They're pricier than pretty much anywhere else, but they're the only place (I know of) that has the short version.

From what I've seen posted, the standard Prothane mounts actually raise the engine close to 1/4", so the 1/2" lowering mounts really only lower the engine about 1/4".

Something rubbing on the hood liner?... Might want to check the hood liner itself for sag. I have an '05 and the paint on the ribbed portion of my factory intake cover is rubbed off. This is caused by a sagging hood liner.
I have removed the intake cover for paint repairs and I am planning to drop the hood liner, spray trim adhesive on the back side of the hood and back side of the hood liner. I'll place a pile of pillows on the top of the engine, lower the hood down on the pillows and let the weight of the hood compress the hood liner up against the backside of the hood. Hope this will resolve my sagging hood liner problem.

They will not lower your strut brace. Poly motor mounts are not for everyone. I tried them and went back to stock. They will transmit more noise/vibration.
