Isnt 5W-20 just a little too thin? I would think 5W-30 in the summer months would be nice, and I know that Mobil 1 makes a 0W-20 that they recommend for 5W-20 engines which would be great in winter.

I agree on the 5w-20 being on the thin side. [:@]

However, in my excitement to get the GT and waiting for it to show up, and my addiction to Redline 20w-50 and Tufoil, I was calling both Redline and Tufoil to see when I should put their product into the GT. At the same time telling Redline that wasn't 5w-20 a bit thin? And how much I LOVED THEIR 20W-50!

Redline - Said in the newer cards with the new valves and stuff, run what the manufacture says to run, or confuse the computer and operating system. They advocated that I wait at least 2.5k miles before change over.

Tufoil - Said don't even run our product till the car has about 5k miles on it. However, I could change the transmission out and put in a 10% mix of Tufoil in it.

I almost changed out the two several times till I hit 4.6k and finally did it. I discovered at 2.5k miles I was down a quart. So I put in a quart of Redline 5w-20 and I felt a little better. When I changed the oil 2k miles later, the dipstick was still showing a damn near full reading. Not much consumption at all for 2k miles!
