Default Pony grill with a gt facia

Hi all the threads I read say you can't put a pony grill on a Gt bumper. How much difference is there in the two. I am looking at getting a Gt bumper assembly and would like to keep the pony grill and lights.

the mounting brakets are in a different place, i think the v6/pony grille has like 4 notche and the gt grille has 5. also the v6 grille i think is just a tad bit narrower then the gt grille

but i know for sure that the inserts to hold it to the bumper are in different locations and +1 on the gt grille, i noticed this when i had them swap out my front fascia
