Default Rear brake piston: gonna put my fist through something

Bought the rubik's cube®/Hellraiser lament box®/everlasting gobstopper® rear brake caliper piston tool and I think I'm gonna track down the designer of rear disc brakes and lodge it in his larynx.

How am I supposed to hold the caliper, push in on the piston, and turn the tool? What kinda X-men® mutant power am I expected to have? Channel locks were finally turning it, with great effort, but it didn't seem to be going in at all. And if I were to be able to get it to go in with the channel locks, then once it starts going in, how am I supposed to grip it without destroying the rubber boot?

Is there a better tool to use? And if not... why the hell not?!

Buy new calipers next time.
They come retracted ready for install.
No need for mister rubix cube tool.
It sure would save you some time and aggrivation
plus you have that good feeling knowing that
the rear calipers are either new or nearly new.

The factory tool has a T -Handle
and is specific to the caliper so that it
is not 6 sided with 6 different sizes.
The T-Handle is soooo easy to use.
I ended up just making one from a
picture in the workshop manual and
some careful measurments with digital
calipers.

If you have a Harbor Freight tool supply in your area, go there. They have a Disc Brake Caliper tool set which costs around 25 bucks and acts like a c-clamp to push in the piston. It has little feet on it that grab on to the piston and turn it as it pushes the piston in so that you can actually compress it. I haven't heard of a single person that likes the cube thing.

New calipers every time I change the pads, eh? Hmm, not a bad idea. Actually, if I just replace the whole axle assembly I'd take care of both sides at once! Awesome.

Yeah, I'll look into the Harbor Freight idea.

Any local Autozone should be able to let you rent the whole tool kit for free basically.

Here ya go. $599.99 + S/H. You could save $961.61
and pocket that money for better things.
