Saw the new 2010's
Hey All
I live in Columbus Ohio.. went to Ricart near by ( one of the largest automalls in the USA ) and checked out the 2010.. I like the front end alot. Pics I saw on here dont do them justice. Till you see them in person can you only then enjoy the dimension changes to the rear quarters, which are wider. Im still not sold on the rear end lamps, but thats my only major hangup. The cars I saw were a nice upgrade on the interior as well from the 05-09 yrs.. but the thing I also kept in mind is Ford is first cars are not the value segment cars. All of the ones I saw were GT models. The 2010 models are no different that they start at 27-28K .. but I only saw 33-34K models with interior upgrades. Im sure the 'value' segment V6's ( Im talking about baseline, no pony pack, etc ) will not have many of the nice things I saw.. although we'll see. Most of the upgrades we can all buy for our stangs now like GT500 floor pedals, aluminum door inserts were already in the 33K priced Mustang Gt's I saw from the factory. I have to admit I was already thinking about being able to buy a new one.. but Im pretty happy with my 07 .. I mean alot of us will sell or trade in our old ones and get a newer one.. but some of us will keep them.. garage them.. and have a real treasure in yrs to come. I think the original S197 05-09 body style will go down in history as the retro year stangs that brought sales back. One thing about driving them. Anyone year, any style is driving a car with some long history and heritage behind it ! All in all.. Im happy with mine, but Ford is doing it right and should have another winner with the 2010's |

The 2010's are really cool. No way I'd buy one now though. There's @$$ for incentives and it's brand spanking new. The dealers are not going to be cutting any good deals because they are so hot right now. They know everyone is excited about them and will use your heightened emotional state against you.
I'm waiting. I have a 2008 V6 and LOVE IT! It turns me on every time I turn the engine on. Now, if you go into a dealership with financing already in place (so the little girl at the financing counter can't get commission off you by selling you their financing), don't tell them you have a trade-in until AFTER you agree upon the lowest possible price, and don't tell them how much money you have to put down (you say $3000 when really you have $8,000).....well then, you can probably get a good deal :D Oh, and telling them that you're really looking at the new Dodge Challengers or Chargers because you've driven a mustang and are kind of tired of it now.....well now you'll have THEM working to convince YOU that you have to have this car. ;) |
I saw a 2010 V6 at our local car show back in Feb. I liked everything about the new style except the tail lights. Will I be trading mine in? Absolutely not! Why should I? My car is paid for and I really enjoy it.
Although, I must admit a Shelby GT500 really gets my attention! Here's a couple of shots I took of that 2010 V6; http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...rShow09057.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...rShow09061.jpg |
The new 2010 V6 with the pony package is actually a nicer looking exterior than the GT. I love the new v6 front-end with the fog lights in the lower part of the front bumper....

it looks like an rc car

I think it looks good. but it ain't gonna deter me from ordering my 2010 GT in a few months

think twice ?

id trade my mustang for a dodge challenger in a heartbeat
Why 3rd place? The challenger was heaviest of all 3 cars.. so even with the extra HP its HP to weight ratio was worst of all three. The mustang had the least HP of 2010 but was lightest of all three. It only lagged behind the Camaro eight/nine tenths in the 1/4 mile because its 400 pounds lighter. |
I saw one in person. I also think the V6 looks the best and cleanest. The GT owners I spoke to in my local club agree as well.
