Default v6 and v8 fuel difference

Guys,

Was looking at the specs of both v6 and v8 automatic.

Its says v6 consumes 15 city / 24 Highway while v8 consumes 16 city /22 Highway.

Is this true? i mean 1 mile difference for city and 2 miles difference for highway.

Correct me if I am wrong but that doesnt seem to be much difference.

any opinions?

Been thinking of v6 or v8.

V6 - 18mpg city/ 26 hwy - manual
16mpg city/ 24 hwy - automatic
V8 - 16mpg city/ 24 hwy - manual
17mpg city/ 23 hwy - automatic

just so you know, those numbers can be way off.
Check the dozens of threads here about the mpg we've been seeing. Many GT's will get MPG as low as 14 in city or stop and go driving, but still get up to 26 mpg at 70 mph highway speeds in cruise control.

Some figures from my '06 manual GT with CAI & axle-back exhaust

Trip to Chicago, 500mi one way interstate driving, 87 octane performance tune, 65mph cruise control - 26.7 MPG (includes pulling off interstate and looking for places to eat, rest stops, etc.)

City driving, 93 octane race tune, - about 16 MPG currently (definitely goes lower when I want to have "fun" though!)

It's not even worth pondering. Get the V8. The wood you get is worth every extra penny.

Get V8 if you are OK with the price difference. You will not be dissapointed.

I owned a 2006 V6 for one year. Traded it in on a 2008 GT/CS and haven't really noticed any real difference. The V6 was an automatic tranny. The GT/CS is manual transmission.
