I have 275/40/18's on 9.5" wheels. Check the tire specs and see what the rim width range is for the tire you want. I think you might just make it but it can vary from tire to tire.

I do Works fine. I notice a little bit of sidewall flex during AutoX's and kind of wish I had 18x9.5's, but for a street car, I don't see you having any adverse effects. You have just enough tire to protect your rims as well so that you don't scratch it if you gently rub a curb or something.

I don't really have any close-ups and the car is DIRTY. I'm gonna try and wash it on Sunday (weather and schedule permitting). Any requests for particular shots? What exactly are you looking to see?

Also, guess I should clarify, I have 275/40/18's in the front and 285/40/18's out back. The 285's are about to get replaced to match the fronts. I got in a wreck and bent the rims I had, but the tires were fine, so I just put the same rear tires back on. They were previously on a 18x9.5. They fit, but I wouldn't recommend it. So, if you're wanting to see pics of the rears, they won't be quite an accurate representation, but the fronts will give you a good idea.

Hey, your car looks great. Is it lowered at all? I like the stance....

Thanks. Totally stock suspension. Maybe after the last kid is out of college and I have some additional disposable $$...

I run 275/35/19 on the front on a 9" wheel. Pretty close to what your asking about. No problems whatsoever. Full turning with no rub. I'm lowered as well.

I have 255/45-18s on an 8.5" wide rim.
I will be going to 275/40-18s next.
BFG says that 275 KDWs willwork on an 8.5" wide rim.
Steering stops are fully recommended.....
Ford says:
For vehicles with 17" wheels from the factory:
-installing 18" x 8.5" or 18" x 9.5" wheels, use steering stop 6R3Z-3932-CA
