steering vibration after header instal
 

hey guys im back again. FINALLY i got my instal done that msot of you helped me out on as i ran into some walls. i installed JBA shorties and mangaflow x pipe. i absolutly love the new sound and the power. it is def noticable and i feel more thrown back in the seat.



however, i have a slight steering vibration from the DS header tapping on the shaft when making right turns. easy right turns, im scared to take a hard on haha. what are my options to resolve the issue. do i need the stiffer MM?



i did do some research through the search option... what is NVH? It seems like these stiffen the engine from moving and allows for more of a power transfer to the ground? What are the cons of installing some stiffer ones?

NVH = Noise, Vibration, Heat

The motormounts will stiffen up the enging and keep it from rocking under throttle and also it will raise the engine a little as well, so they should solve your problem.

NVH is noise, vibration, and harshness. My steering shaft is rubbing my headers as well. Another member (Linde) just installed long tubes and his headers were rubbing. To solve his issue, he just loosened both the nuts on top of the motor mount studs and pushed the engine to the passenger side. Then he retightened the nuts and it no longer rubbed. I am going to try this trick this evening after my engine cools down. I'll keep you posted on how it works.

ditto. im going to get that a shot first be4 i buy new MM. i wnat to look into them further. i wont be able to do it in a while though. i have finals for school coming up and i need to raise me GPA to get into grad school. let me know how it works out for u if u do it b4 me

Not the first time I hear clearing issues with JBAs...
I had problems with them on Classic Mustang and the late ones are no exception I guess.

Another trick is to put thick washers between the mount and the block...
Not recommended with hi-torque engines though.
