sound deadening the cabin?

hey guys, i was curious how much, if possible, it would cost to sound deaden the cabin. dont get me wrong. i love to hear my engine roar, but sometimes when im driving with people i like to be able to hear them talk as well lol... when somebody is in my back seats i cannot hear them for the life of me. and since i got my headers its alot louder, it actually sounds like i can hear the valves opening and closeing. i do drive mostly by myself, but when i do drive peeps i want to b able to talk, and the shaker 500 i have in there is muffled by my exhaust unless i have it set to like more then a third of the volume. any suggestions on how to quite the cabin down?

RAAmat or dynomat as much as the cabin as possible (especially the doors, and the floor) and you will see a difference.

Cost? It will cost a few hundred at least depending on what you use, and how much of it is used.

It's a pretty involved job. You'll need to strip out most of the interior and use Dynamat or a similar product. It will probably cost a few hundred bucks in materials and will add some weight, not sure how much, though.

it cost me about $400 total I used second skin audios dampner and overkill as well as luxary liner. It took ~30 hours. I used the wright ups on here to help, I don't think I could have done it w/o them, or it just would have been a lot harder. It's not too complex just time consuming. But IMO it's totally worth it, and I had fun doing it too. Also it put a stop to all of my rattles with or without the bass turned up.

they are in taco bills list of stuff. It's a sticky at the top of the s197 general area. One is called sound deadening and the other is adding sound dampening material I believe.

I used about $500 worth of second skin products and did the whole car myself (I remember, using the foil stuff, and luxury liner extreme and some other stuff). Added about 90lbs and took about 100 hours (and some other misc stuff). Really focused on the trunk and underneath the seats. The stock exhaust got so quiet I could barely hear it, so I changed over to the american flowmaster thunder which is just right, but doesn't drone/annoying. Biggest difference was placing the luxury liner really thick pad over the entire bottom of the car, and doing the doors.

I'd say it was well worth doing, and I got to hunt down every potential rattle and shut it down before it had a chance to start. The old stereo could easily be turned down to half of the prior volume and still be good. The new stereo sounds even better. It makes it into a much more refined vehicles. I only took a few misc pictures at the beginning.

I put dynamat under the floor pan carpets and throughout the trunk. It really improves the overall feeling of quality in the car. Its cooler, its warmer and its quieter and just better.
