After a trip from Los Angeles up to the Kern River and back ( East of Bakersfield) my MPG went from 14.6 to 15.6. It probably could have been much higher but there was not much traffic and i was usually going about 80. Except, of course on the windy road alongside the river!
What seems wierd is that my Average Speed still remains the same, about 27 MPH. I would have thought a trip of almost 400 miles would have raised that. Still have less than 2000 miles on my 2 month old '05.
I haven't yet reset those 2 readouts.

I think I have you beat. I just went over 3500 miles on my almost 7 month old GT.[8D] At 2 months, I didn't even have 1000.

That makes me wonder. I only have ~400 miles on mine right now, but I also have an average of 27MPH, and it's been that way since I got it. I bought the car from the dealer with >40 miles on it, and I had to drive it 130+ miles to get it home... most of which were doing ~70. Now I've been pretty nice to her at times, but I can honestly say the allure of go-real-fast-pedal has sucked me in more often than not. Yet somehow I'm still stuck on 27MPH as an average. Is this happening with anyone else?

This Sunday, June 26, there is a Mustang and Ford Car Show at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, CA.
There are a ton of classes for judging, including 1994 and up Personalized Coupe and Vert Classes and a 1994 and up Factory Stock Class.
There should be a ton of Shelbys, SVOs and Cobras, as well as Cougars, Torinos, T-birds, etc.
I'll be there with the new GT and hopefully if anyone else is in the area they can stop by.

Hi Orion_240,

I'm expecting to get there in the morning and take some images of all the good stuff. Details for drawings I want to do and to look for ideas and feedback on mods for my '05 GT. When are you going to get there? Maybe we can get a few of the locals here and meet up and walk around together and kill a pizza or two. If interested please email me and give me your phone# and I'll send you mine so we can coordinate on Sunday.

Cheers/Chip

Just look for me and my car in the Pony Corral. I hope to get there before the 9:30 cut off time.

If you reset it everytime you fill up at the pump, you will get a more accurate reading. You are seeing what the car is getting on the average since the last time it was reset. The longer you drive without reseting, the longer the is will take for the milage to change. Reset it everytime you fill up, it will be more accurate.
