Default How are the ford mudflaps attached?

I want to drive my stang to our lake house this summer but involves a 2 mile stretch of dirt and gravel which has me worried. And im not a huge fan of the mudflaps but i know they would help alot.

My question is how are they attached to the car? Id like to rig up some kind of quick disconnect so i can just snap them on and off for the ride to the lake. Anyone know of any ideas? i havent seen the flaps close enough to know anything other then they will protect my bumper/sideskirts more and they dont look to good.

i think the gt500's have tiny little mudflaps on there rear wheel wells, i think there just screw ons so you could attach and detach for whenever you need them, i remeber talking to a salesman about it, i think she said they are only like 25 bucks or something, you should go check that out

GT500 are just screwed on the back...very easy. However, they dont offer too much protection. I have seen folks place them in the front too, but I dont have them there.

I have them and I just used some stainless screws to attach them. I live in a rural area with Amish so there is always horse manure on the road somewhere! Better on the flap than on the paint!

I have a set of Jaeger Brothers splash guards for both front and rear. They are made to be easily put on and taken off.

The dealership I work for puts flaps on everything, as there are alot of rocks and gravel around here... they screw them in place with small screws... the two mustangs we have outside have them and look a little off, I dont think flaps belong on these cars, but to each their own. I don't feel that the holes are worth it, once you remove them.

The mustangs use the screws that hold the factory bumper in place
