Default S197 Coolant Smell

I have a 2007 Mustang GT and a 2008 V6. Both cars have a distinct coolant smell upon shutting the car off since new. Is this a common experience with other S197 owners?

Can't say that it is 2008 S197 GT auto here. I know the first few weeks after I got my car there were all sorts of acrid and eggy smells as the car broke in...no problems now. Check the coolant resivour. It may be over filled from the factory or the dealer may have accidentally spilled some when they serviced the car. If it persists, try to pinpoint where the smell is coming from.

I have looked at the resevoir and it does not appear to be overfilled. By the same token, it does not appear to be low either. I have not noticed any leaks. Could it be the resevoir venting?

lol

Just watch the coolant level and make sure you don't see any spots under the car. When you shut it off pop the hood and listen carefully for any hissing noise too.
