Dead PCM, A/C, and Custom Tune.... 2007 GT
My GT has a custom Brenspeed tune installed. About a year later, the Climate Control Module went out. I took it to the dealer and they said it was a faulty CCM. They replaced this under warranty.. With the new CCM, the blower and defroster worked, but the A/C didn't blow cold. Back to the Dealer... Now they are saying the tune killed the PCM, and that the CCM was never to blame... Even though the first one was fried. If i get them to replace the PCM, and Ford finds the custom tune, I am out over $700. Will Ford be able to tell the car was tuned? And can a custom tune even kill the CCM??

my bama tune fried my pcm a few months back. My car wouldnt even start up. So I took out the cold air intake then contacted my dealer and they came and towed my car back and had it back to me with a new pcm 3 days later. All under warranty. My pcm fried when i was trying to reload a tune. My story to the dealer was i went out to the car one morning to find the car dead

Same thing happened to me, dealer even payed for towing. Though mine was due to bad tuner, it locked my computer out and the dealer reset everything and they gave me a rental car.
Call Brenspeed and see if that is the reason, if they say no then ask the ford dealership to explain why the custom tune ruined your a/c.

Same thing has happened to my car and I can't figure out what the hell it is.
I re-loaded a tune and now the A/C doesn't blow cold.
Well it will blow cold sometimes. But it's like it decides when it wants to or not.
I've checked all the connections and had the A/C recharged and checked out by a tech and mechanically everything is fine.
And since it happened just after a re-tune I know it must be that... or a REALLY big coincidence.
Thanks for any help!

If the A/C is blowing cooled air (doesn't matter if cold enough), the system is working and there are no PCM issues. If you have some miles on your car, it could be a number of issues; insufficient refrigerant, too much refrigerant, poor air circulation at the condenser or evaporator, intermittent compressor operation due to flaky relay, clutch or belt, you name it.
The one way I can think of that the PCM would be involved is the A/C override. This is usually when you go full throttle and it shuts down the compressor to make all power available and avoid over revving the compressor. I don't know the strategy used by the S197 very well. It's possible that the PCM is interupting the compressor for other reasons, but I would not expect any of those to occur in the driveway at idle.
The most common reason for a system with 50K miles or so to fail is a clogged orifice tube. The orifice tube regulates refrigerant flow and filters debris from the system so that it isn't recirculated. If your compressor is shedding metal, you can expect the orifice tube to be clogged. The two main reasons this would occur is a loss of lubricant from an A/C leak. Have you had to recharge? If so, you had a leak. The other is simply long term wear on the compressor.
You could get a second opinion at an A/C specialist. Warn them that the dealer says PCM is at fault. You might be out the cost of a diagnosis, but you might find out your dealer service is missing something.
