motor parts are here!

*****, I have to ask you a few questions. They are sort of off-topic but they are also sort of on-topic. First off, I followed both of your builds, your turbo build and this current one. I read all 42 pages of your turbo build, EVERY SINGLE POST. As you might already know, I plan on going turbo over the summer. Of course I'm not going to build my own like you did but I'm going to be able to be in the same power range as you were before you bent your rod. If you could go back would you have stayed away from that 446 rwhp? My goal is to run a low, safe 425 rwhp and keep it at that until I can afford to start working inside my engine. I was wondering if there was something specific other than too much power on the stock motor that caused your rod to bend. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

446 was fine @ 9 PSI, it was when the TURBONETICS wastegate didnt do its job and let the boost spike up to 11.4,that put me well over 500hp on a very hot motor. it was my 7th or 8th run that day and many runs where back to back.
what kit are you going to go with, if it comes with a turbonetics WG, i would ditch it and replace with a tial or something bigger, bigger is always better on the wastegate and you cant go too big.the wastegate is almost the most critical piece to keep your block in one peice,if it fails and you dont catch it,you will over boost and go boom. if anything else fails you just figure out what it is and fix it.

This is predominantly why I'm so glad I have an electronic boost controller.
6 psi spring on a Turbonetics Evolution WG. On average temperature nights there is no boost spiking. On colder nights I can test everything out and see how much overboost I'm getting (usually only an extra pound) generally something I can live with and just run on lower settings 90% of the time
