Sorry for the confusion. I just want to find a thinner side wall. I currently have the stock bullitt style 17's and the 235/55 beachball sized tires. I intend to lower the car and I'd like to find a decent size tire for the 18 inch fanblades I intend to install on the car. How wide can I go on a fanblade? They're an 8.5 inch rim yes? Can I go 275 or so?

275/45 are approved for a 8.5" rim, you can fit - many do - 275/40 if you'd like less sidewall

265/40s also work they are approved for a 9" rim so you may lose some lateral stability on a 8.5"
