Used SCT Tuner wont work with my car

Used SCT Tuner wont work with my car
I got a used Steeda CAI and SCT Strategy Flash Device (with fw 1.14) off of ebay. I was lead to believe that it would work as the only difference is my car is one year older and has a different VIN. It came today and when I tired to load the tune that was in it " 91oct&cai" it says wrong vehicle. Also there is a section that says "5 changes left stat=stock". Ebay seller is no help.
What can I do to get it to work with my car? There is a usb port at the bottom so do I need to load another tune? Where would I get one? I loaded the drivers and some programs from SCT's website, but with no luck. Thanks for any help, I am lost as to where to go next.

You're not in too bad a shape. The tunes that are in the tuner are for a specific vehicle. You need to contact Brenspeed or Bama, explain the situation and buy new tunes from them. They can explain how to purge the old tunes and upload their new tunes, made for YOUR car, into the handheld. The SCT tunes are considered "canned" tunes and don't provide the performance as those from the tuners mentioned above.

I got the tune to upload to the car, but when I try to start it nothing happens except the gauge says "fuel level low, dte odo data error, check charging system". I loaded the "stock" tune back and the car starts, but doent idle well.
I contacted Brenspeed and paid the $75 for a new tune. For now, will the car run with the stock tune or will it throw codes and run terrible? They said 5-7 days and its memorial day weekend...

I will try to contact someone about buying new tunes. Also, do I need a tune with the Steeda CIA (im not sure on the model) right now. I dont want to load the stock tune again and see if it give errors and go into limp home mode because it says "only 4 changes left".

the sct tuner could be locked to the previous vehicle. the only way to unlock it from the other car is to have the car flashed back to stock then the device should be unlocked. you can contact brenspeed for one of thier amazing custom tunes all you will need is your cpu code which is easy to find!
