3:55 vs 3:75 package vs stock

I don't live in Northern VA! (The traffic is terrible!)
Hmmm...I was getting the tire info from tire rack. I guess they don't have the track pack wheels and tires listed correctly! Whoops.
Still, 19 inch tires are still expensive. My G8 GT has 245/40R19 and they are over $300 a tire. Not cheap. The selection is also very limited. (I'm thinking I should have been happy with the 18's!) A excellent performing 18 inch summer tire costs far less than that. I think my 18 inch 255/45R18's were $170 to $180 a piece and they're BFGoodrich Tires.
I can't speak for autocross, best to do a search for '05+ Mustang owners and see what the opinion is, since the 2010 is essentially the same car with different cosmetics.. I'm sure there is a post about which gear is the best.
For 1/4 mile, stoplight-to-stoplight, 4.10:1 manual and 3.73:1 automatic are the best compromise between acceleration and highway fuel economy. That's why Ford Performance Parts recommends those ratios.
I completely understand if you don't want to mod your car. Then the track pack is ideal! It's also cheaper to barrow the money from Ford instead of coming up with mod money out of your own pocket.
I'm only saying not to agonize over getting the track pack or not. As with the Shelby GT, the track pack is just a mildly modded GT with standard bolt on parts. It's not hard to meet or exceed it's performance with simple bolt ons like a gear change and summer tires.

I couldn't agree more, I am super bummed over not being able to get the shaker 1000 with the track pack. I am sure the Ford Motorsports package is even better, like I said for me it's just the cool factor of saying I have a track pack mustang is kinda cool. Lame I know!
