Default BRAKES.........NEED SOME HELP.

I have a 2005 GT and have developed a loud squeek when you press the brake pedal.I have sprayed some wd40 at the point of contact but it did not help. The other thing is that it does not start sqeeking until you have driven the car for about an hour and it will not stop unless you let the car sit for several hours. The noise sounds like it is an interior noise and not a caliper or pad issue.

My first thought was that the brakes are worn. I don't know that the noise would be intermittent the way you describe. Anyway, are all the brakes okay as far as wear?

YES.....less than 4000 miles on the pads and if the pads were worn it would do it all of the time.

I suggest you go to your local auto parts store and check out the lubricants they have for dealing with squeaking brakes. I wouldn't use WD-40. It's not designed for use where the temperature can get hot.

Does it do it while you are in neutral when it goes into squeak mode? If so, I would crawl around on the floor to try to pinpoint the source of the squeak. You may need a tube or a mechanic's stethoscope to determine the exact point of the squeak. If the WD-40 doesn't work, you could try dry graphite lube.

I just wanted to answer some of the questions. If you press the pedal down when you are in nutrual and not moving it still makes the squeek inside the car also I have crawled under the dash and the noise does seem to come from one of the connections but I CANT STOP THE SQEEK WITH LUBE.Thanks.

It's not your brake.. its your shoes.. after they get warmed up they squeek.. and because of the extra pressure you need ot push on the brake vs the gas pedal thats why you don't hear it on the gas.
