Default Shorty Antenna from Pep Boys?

I was calling around trying to find where I might find a shorty antenna without having to order one.

I called pep boys and they said they had short universal antennas.

Has anyone used these or know if they would work for us?

Just cut your factory one and stick the ball back on top, it's free .

Use plyers but wrap the ball with a towel so you don't scratch it. Cut the antenna to your desired length (8", 14"), then put a drop of adhesive (I used super glue) on the inside of the ball and push it back on top. Push on the ball hard to make sure it on...that's it.

You could use a dremel to cut it and sandpaper to smooth down the cut!
After that superglue it on top and spray paint it black for a nice finish!!
Well thats what i plan on doing but i need to buy a dremel first!!

I used a Dremel but if you don't have one a hand saw could work. You will need to use sand paper to taper the end for the ball because the original antenna is wider at the bottom than at the top. It's very simple though.
