Default check fuel cap light

the check fuel cap light on my 05 gt wont shut off. ive twisted it off and back on various times and i cant get it to shut off. any help?

Did you leave the cap off or loose? If so, it will take a few driving miles to erase the light. You could always disconnect the battery and clear the message.

well i have hit the reset button on the dash and it shuts off but then comes back on like 30 miles later.and i have put two tanks of gas through it.

Do you have an OBD-II code reader? If so, have you checked to see if the car is showing a DTC?

Diagnostic Trouble Code--the letter and numbers that the code reader displays.

I had this happen to me and tried the reset on the car also. You have to erase the code with your scan-tool (Diablo / SCT) in order for it to truly clear.
